Copper
has always been simple to work with. It’s almost as if it were created
to cut, form and solder with minimum effort and maximum effect. Remarkably,
CopperPlus, even with the added strength of its stainless steel core,
can be shaped, fashioned and formed like ordinary copper. Equipment may
need minor adjustments, but no new equipment is necessary.
The additional strength of CopperPlus provides a not-so-obvious benefit:
There is less chance of damage to the material before or after forming.
CopperPlus is capable of 180º, zero radius, bend with no evidence of separating of the bonded layers or cracking of the material.
Cross sectional micrographs
of CopperPlus subjected to bend testing laterally, per ASTM B 820,
with bend radii of: (a) 1/4T, and (b) 1/4T then folded 180º flat on
itself, and longitudinally with bend radii of: (c) 1/4T,
and (d) 1/4T then folded 180º flat on itself.
